The Sacred Grounds Within

We are many things, numerous aspects of a deeper self that we usually do not know or understand.  We are “The Way”.  Yet, we walk in the dark of the moon.  Solar/Lunar, Light/Dark, Male/Female, Tiger/Bear; we fail to see, let alone understand The Sacred Grounds within.

Long ago we physically saw and witnessed the depth of the King’s Ground.  Within the Sacred enclosure were the words and within these words were the teachings of the universe.  Fire met Water, Solar opposite Lunar, the center arbor a balance between the two; each song invoking an ancient Spirit of wellness and “Right Relationship”.  The ceremony is the life teaching.

Subtlety, they taught.  Each and every word that rolled off the tongue of an elder became building blocks for our lives.  Word upon word we gained the knowledge that opened the inner doors to wisdom.  Each sound became the foundation of our inner Sacred Grounds.  Yet, we have discarded that which is our true self.   The way of the Grounds is the way of the people. 

Today we are mere shells of our former selves.  Hollow, we hear the wind whistling through our empty self, wondering why the sound has suddenly become so intense.  The thousand yard stare has become our sight.  East meets west each standing equally opposed to the other.  I am but I am not, for I heard once that there was a way and it is only found at the Sacred Grounds within.
